ABSTRACT

Natural phytochemicals with antioxidant properties have attracted a lot of attention lately due to their potential for therapeutic use against a variety of pathophysiological disorders, the majority of which entail oxidative degradation brought on by free radicals. Thus, the goal of the current study was to use an optimized technique to separate oryzanol (OZ), a bio-active natural antioxidant, from crude Oryza sativa bran oil (cRBO). This was followed by pharmacological analysis, the creation of a strategic formulation, and an in vivo pharmacokinetic evaluation. The commercially produced cRBO's fatty acid profile, tocopherol/tocotrienol composition, and physicochemical characteristics were all similar to those documented in the literature. Several analytical methods were used to identify the OZ that was separated from cRBO by a two-step crystallization procedure. In the instance of OZ, improved absorption and increased bioavailability of OZ demonstrated its promise as a new nutrition delivery mechanism.
