ABSTRACT

When hydrated, a self-forming enclosed lipid bi-layer gave rise to the discovery of the liposome, also known as a lipid vesicle. Liposome drug delivery methods have been crucial in the development of powerful medications to enhance treatments. Liposome formulations have recently been developed with the goal of increasing accumulation at the target site and decreasing toxicity. The suppression of rapid liposome clearance through regulation of particle size, charge, and surface hydration is one of the innovative liposome manufacturing techniques based on lipid drug interaction and liposome disposition mechanism. Targeting tissue with or without the expression of target recognition molecules on the lipid membrane is the majority of clinical uses for liposomal drug delivery. Physical, chemical, and biological factors are used to characterize the liposomes.
